The most important part of the human body, the eye is not only a vital part but very complex and delicate too. There is a famous proverb that if Eyes are lost the world is lost for you. Now a days this most important part of your body is facing severe attacks of the digital world. Besides all other eye problems a new danger “Digital Eye strain” (Termed as Digital Eye Syndrome in medical science) has developed. Now TV, Phone, cameras, Computers, Laptops, Mobile Phone, Video games(Online or Offline) and many other electronics, you can say almost all these things are digital and dangerous to your Eyes. In comparison with the nineties(1990-1999) the amount of the digital exposure among the youth has gone as high as 2000 per cent or say twenty times high.

What is computer Eye Syndrome or digital Eye Strain

An eye disorder most common in the people working on or watch digital screens mostly Computer. Not only a computer screen is harmful but constant watching a long TV program, Playing games on mobiles hand sets, Tablets, or other digital gaming devices also adversely effects the eyes. A large number of people(About 20 per cent) who use or working on these digital devices or work in the digital atmosphere are effected more or less from this disease.

Symptoms of computer Eye Syndrome or digital Eye Strain

· Eyes become Dry or Watery Eyes.

· Feeling Eye fatigue or eye strain is a common and annoying 

· Redness appears in the eyes.

· Vision becomes Fainted. 

· Early Tiredness, frequent itching and burning eyes.

· Feeling Difficulty in focusing on some thing/point.

· Seeing Double image or a blurred vision.

· Significant change in vision

· Mild headache while working. 

· Sensitivity to light high power lights.

· Pain in the neck, shoulders, or back

Remedies and precautions of computer Eye Syndrome or digital Eye Strain

· The 20 Formula during work-i.e. after working for 20 minutes, look at some object preferably green at a distance of about 20 feet.

· Frequently leave your seat and walk out side for a while. Viewing a natural(A real one and not a not a photograph) scenery is the best option.

· Adjust your computer monitor screen’s upper end a little below your eye level.

· Use a filter or antiglare screen cover over your monitor screen. An anti-glare screen attached to your monitor can help and is a less drastic measure than painting the walls in a darker, matt-finish paint. Reducing the external light by covering windows or using a computer hood over the monitor might help.

· Eye strain is often caused by excessive sunlight coming in through the window or by bright room lighting. Use curtains or blinds to reduce the brightness of the sun, reduce the lighting in your room and avoid sitting under big overhead fluorescent lights. If possible, use floor lamps instead.

· Adjust your computer monitor screen at least at a distance of 20 inches or more from your eyes..

· Always use the monitor that tilts or swivel.

· Please note that the Graphics are more harmful in comparison with text.

· Wearing prescription glasses gives the greatest comfort at your computer.
